Hirwaun Power Station in South Wales has now been completed

The construction of the Hirwaun Power Station in South Wales has now been officially completed. It is the first of three Open Cycle Gas Turbine projects, with a capacity of 299MW each, being delivered by METLEN in the United Kingdom on behalf of Drax Group UK.

The station will provide flexible electricity to up to 150,000 homes during periods of peak demand, operating for up to 1,500 hours annually and contributing to both demand coverage and grid stability.

Another major energy project for METLEN, further strengthening its footprint in the UK’s energy transition through critical large-scale infrastructure projects.
